A feature wall creates a focal point without committing to a full-room pattern. The key to a good result is centring the pattern correctly and aligning drops precisely at every seam.

We measure and mark a centre point before cutting the first drop. This ensures the pattern is balanced on the wall and avoids a half-motif at one side.

Large repeat patterns carry a higher material waste allowance. We calculate this at the quoting stage so there are no surprises with rolls ordered.

Full room wallpapering covers all four walls and, where specified, the ceiling. It requires careful planning around doors, windows, light switches, and obstacles.

We start from the most visible corner and work around the room, adjusting for out-of-plumb walls. The final drop is positioned in the least visible location.

Wallpapering around original cornicing requires a clean, straight cut against the profile. Cutting too high leaves a gap.

Cutting too low tucks paper behind the cornice and causes lifting.

We use a steady hand and a straight edge to achieve a consistent line. Where the cornice profile is complex, we trim on the wall rather than on the table to follow the exact contour.

Original plaster walls in Peverell and Mutley period terraces often have slight movement at the cornice joint. We stabilise any loose sections before hanging to prevent the paper from lifting over time.

Old wallpaper must be fully removed before re-hanging. Papering over existing layers causes adhesion failure and pattern distortion over time.

We soak and strip thoroughly, including any backing paper left on the wall. Once stripped, we assess the wall surface and repair any damage before hanging new paper.

Where wallpaper has been applied directly to bare plaster, the removal process can damage the surface. We seal any affected areas and apply lining paper as a base before the new paper goes on.
